Hensoldt AG is set to open a software and engineering center at a site of Robert Bosch GmbH with a goal of transferring as many as 300 automotive staff to work for the radar and sensor maker.
The hub, located in a vacant building on a Bosch campus near Stuttgart, will focus on the development and industrialization of software architectures for defense applications, Hensoldt said Tuesday. The planned site will make use of engineering competencies at Bosch, the world’s biggest auto supplier.
Hensoldt will favor taking on employees with a background in systems engineering, software development and electrical engineering, it said.

The expansion marks another step in the defense company’s collaboration with Bosch on jobs. Hensoldt already offered a lifeline to nearly 200 employees at Bosch and Continental AG from locations in the Stuttgart region and elsewhere last year.
Earlier this year, the firm agreed to cooperate with car-parts maker Aumovio SE to take over some engineers who lost their jobs following cuts in the company’s research and development department.
Hensoldt, with a market capitalization of €10 billion ($11.5 billion), is growing rapidly and plans to hire about 1,600 employees in 2026, increasing its workforce by over 16%.
