Shinhan Securities posted net profit exceeding 570 billion won in the first half of this year, recording more than double the growth from a year earlier.
According to second-quarter 2026 earnings released by Shinhan Financial Group on the 23rd, Shinhan Securities' net profit for the first half of this year was 577.7 billion won, up 123.1% from the same period last year. The increase was attributed to higher fee income from stock brokerage and financial products in the first half, along with a corresponding rise in proprietary trading revenue.
However, second-quarter net profit came in at 289.3 billion won, up just 0.3% from 288.4 billion won in the previous quarter. "Stock brokerage fees rose in the second quarter as well, driven by increased trading volume amid a booming capital market, but proprietary trading revenue declined due to conservative management in response to rising market interest rates," a Shinhan Securities official said.
