Daewoong Pharmaceutical (069620.KS) is stepping up its push into Latin America by expanding injection training for doctors in the region on Nabota, its botulinum toxin product.
The company said on the 20th that it held an academic program for medical professionals, NABOTA Master Class (NMC) LATAM 2026, in Buenos Aires, Argentina, on Oct. 13 and 14.
Daewoong Pharmaceutical has expanded its business since entering Panama in 2015, launching Nabota in 12 Latin American countries including Brazil, Argentina, Chile and Peru. Nabota became the first Korean-made botulinum toxin to win product approval in Argentina and reach commercialization. Over the past three years, Nabota's sales in South America have grown an average of 20% a year.
Latin America is seen as a market with high growth potential as demand for aesthetic medicine rises. According to market research firm Grand View Research, the region's aesthetic injectables market was worth $520.3 million in 2025 and is expected to grow an average of 9.0% a year through 2033. Argentina's market is projected to grow 9.3% a year.
The event was held under the theme "Mastering Aesthetics." It was the first time the NMC had been held in Latin America. About 200 doctors from six countries — Brazil, Argentina, Chile, Ecuador, Peru and Panama — attended, and seven speakers invited from South Korea, Brazil, Argentina and the United Arab Emirates shared their clinical experience. It was the largest turnout for any NMC held with doctors from multiple countries.
The program focused on tailored injection training that takes into account the anatomical features and facial expression patterns of patients in Latin America. Moving beyond training centered on procedures alone, it covered clinical approaches and treatment strategies reflecting patient characteristics in each country.
The lectures introduced botulinum toxin treatment trends in South Korea and Latin America and shared cases of lifting and skin quality improvement using Nabota's injection methods, "NaboLift" and "NaboGlow." The sessions also covered anatomical knowledge needed for treating hyperhidrosis and for masseter muscle injections, as well as treatment strategies tailored to individual patients.
A panel discussion addressed how long the effects of toxin injections last and treatment strategies for different patients. Live demonstrations showcased a range of techniques and injection methods, including NaboLift, NaboGlow and "Glowtox," a combination treatment that pairs botulinum toxin with a skin booster.
Kim Kyung-oh, director of the Seopangyo branch of Doctors Dermatology Clinic, who took part as a speaker from South Korea, said: "It was meaningful to share South Korea's toxin treatment trends and the techniques unique to Nabota, and to exchange clinical experience across countries." The doctor added, "I hope South Korea's expertise in these procedures helps strengthen the skills of doctors in Latin America."
Ada Trindade de Almeida, a Brazilian dermatologist, said: "With botulinum toxin treatment, what matters is a strategy suited to each patient's characteristics and a precise injection technique." The dermatologist explained that the program shared clinical experience and core techniques that doctors can apply in actual practice.
Yoon Jun-soo, head of Daewoong Pharmaceutical's Nabota business division, said: "This was an occasion to explore the many possible applications of Nabota based on the clinical experience of doctors in each country." Yoon added, "We will continue to expand training programs that reflect the medical environment and demand in each region and keep up exchanges with doctors around the world."
