POSCO青岩财团向两名海外留学生每年最高提供3万美元奖学金

The POSCO Cheongam Foundation said it awarded overseas study scholarship certificates to two final recipients — Noh Yi-joon, a doctoral candidate at Stanford University, and Seo Dong-woong, a doctoral candidate at the Paris School of Economics in France — at the POSCO Center in Seoul on the 20th.
The POSCO Overseas Study Scholarship is a program that supports talented domestic students so they can ease their financial burden and focus on research at leading universities abroad. The foundation launched the program this year to nurture core talent who will lead future national competitiveness amid intensifying global technology and knowledge competition.
Each selected scholar will receive up to $30,000 in scholarship funds annually for five years. The foundation also plans to provide continued support so that the scholars can share their academic interests and research experiences through exchange and networking opportunities with the foundation's senior scholars, and grow further as future researchers.
"I will do my part to expand the possibilities of materials science and connect the expertise and international research networks I build abroad to domestic academia and industry," Noh said. Seo said, "Through research in public economics, I will work to ensure that academic research achievements can lead to the policy field, and I will become a researcher who contributes to Korean society."
The foundation said it plans to continue creating an environment where talented individuals can focus on research and to keep nurturing global research talent who will lead Korea's future on the world stage.
