Myriad Genetics, SOPHiA GENETICS Partner With AstraZeneca On Prostate Cancer PrGIS

Myriad Genetics (
MYGN
) and SOPHiA GENETICS (
SOPH
) announced a collaboration with AstraZeneca (
AZN
) to advance a new prostate cancer-specific genomic instability score, or PrGIS, for precision oncology.
Prostate cancer is an area where homologous recombination deficiency (HRD) is emerging as an important biomarker for identifying patients who may benefit from targeted treatments. PrGIS is designed to assess chromosomal instability associated with HRD in prostate cancer.
Myriad developed PrGIS to support the use of HRD as an actionable biomarker in prostate cancer. The company's MyChoice CDx test, currently used as a companion diagnostic in ovarian cancer, will generate the PrGIS score and is being advanced for use in prostate cancer.
The collaboration is intended to advance PrGIS in clinical trials and support the development of potential companion diagnostic solutions that could help identify appropriate patients for precision oncology medicines.
As part of the agreement, SOPHiA GENETICS is developing a decentralized companion diagnostic solution based on its Extended Homologous Recombination Solution for solid tumors. The solution will incorporate Myriad's PrGIS
technology
and is intended to expand access to testing in global
markets
.
SOPHiA GENETICS' cloud-based platform supports local laboratory testing through a network of more than 1,000 connected institutions across over 75 countries.
Myriad and AstraZeneca also plan to present research on PrGIS at the upcoming European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO) Congress 2026. The research is expected to further characterize the biomarker and support its validation.
The collaboration combines Myriad's genomic biomarker technology with SOPHiA GENETICS' global diagnostic platform, with the companies seeking to expand access to precision oncology testing and support development of companion diagnostics in prostate cancer.
MYGN has traded between $2.74 and $8.59 over the past year. Currently, MYGN is trading at $4.13, down 3.39%.
SOPH has traded between $3.75 and $8.98 over the past year. Currently, SOPH is trading at $7.20, up 0.70%.
AZN has traded between $153.41 and $212.71 over the past year. Currently, AZN is trading at $157.63, up 1.47%.
