Champions City Complex Development PFV will open the model house for Champions City Phase 1 on the 4th, launching sales of the first residential phase of "All New Champions City," a mixed-use project on the former Chonbang and Ilshin Spinning site in Im-dong, Buk-gu, Gwangju.
Champions City, which will include 4,315 residential units along with The Hyundai Gwangju, a luxury hotel, a cultural park and office facilities, applies an "Urban Core" concept that links major facilities through pedestrian pathways.
Champions City Phase 1, the first residential phase, will comprise 12 buildings rising up to 49 stories with 3,216 units ranging from 84 to 214 square meters of exclusive floor space. Units of 84 square meters account for 2,534 homes, or about 79% of the total. Woomi Construction and Shinyoung C&D will handle construction.
The complex will connect to a cultural park built around the industrial heritage of the Chonbang and Ilshin Spinning site. Nearby, The Hyundai Gwangju is planned at roughly 1.4 times the total floor area of The Hyundai Seoul, with completion targeted for May 2029, ahead of the complex's move-in date. Subscription begins with special supply on the 14th, followed by first-priority applications on the 15th and second-priority on the 16th. Winners will be announced on the 22nd, with contracts signed from Oct. 5 to 9.
Residents of Champions City Phase 1 will have access not only to new facilities built through the mixed-use development but also to existing downtown infrastructure. The site offers easy access to major areas via the Seo-Gwangju interchange and Mujin-daero, and Gwangju Station, Gwangju-Kia Champions Field and a Shinsegae department store are located nearby. An elementary school is also planned near the complex.
Community amenities will include a 25-meter indoor swimming pool, an indoor golf practice range, a multipurpose indoor gymnasium, a fitness center, a group exercise room and a Pilates studio. A sky community with a sky lounge and sky guesthouse will be built on the 44th floor. Private dining rooms, a sauna, a tea house and a pet garden are also planned.
Healthcare services linked to medical institutions are also in the works. Champions City Complex Development AMC signed agreements with Sangmu Hospital and Korea Hospital to cooperate on emergency personnel training and health screening programs. Woomi Construction has also signed an agreement with Chonnam National University Hospital and is reviewing the introduction of neighborhood-based healthcare services.
"With the launch of Gwangju Special City and major changes ahead for the city, including the Samsung and SK semiconductor mega-projects, interest in Champions City is rising," an official at Champions City said. "As this is the first residential phase of a mixed-use development that combines housing with commercial, cultural and office facilities, visitors will be able to see the product at the model house."
The model house is located within the Champions City project site. Move-in is scheduled for November 2030.
