Hyundai Department Store (069960.KS) said on the 2nd that it will run joint marketing for top-tier customers with BFC Mall, a premium lifestyle mall at the Bund Finance Center in Shanghai.
The company recently signed a memorandum of understanding with BFC Mall on a VIP service partnership, and the two sides will begin offering reciprocal benefits to their VIP customers this month. It is the fifth such tie-up with a global retail channel, following partnerships in Thailand, Japan, Singapore and Macau. Hyundai Department Store has previously struck joint VIP marketing deals with Thailand's Siam Piwat Group, Japan's Hankyu Department Store, Marina Bay Sands in Singapore and Sands China in Macau.
Under the agreement, each company will provide tailored services to the other's VIP customers. Hyundai Department Store VIP customers visiting BFC Mall can use a VIP-only lounge and receive three admission tickets to Fosun Foundation Shanghai, which hosts international cultural exhibitions. They will also have access to one-on-one concierge services, including local tour consultations and priority reservations at major restaurants inside BFC Mall.
BFC Mall VIP customers traveling to South Korea can use exclusive lounges at The Hyundai Seoul and the Trade Center store, along with a fast-track service that lets them enter luxury brand stores without waiting. They will also receive passes to ALT.1, a multipurpose cultural venue, as well as special discounts and additional loyalty points. Seasonal cultural benefits, such as admission tickets to The Hyundai Seoul's Christmas market, will be offered as well.
Hyundai Department Store plans to expand VIP service partnerships with global retail channels in France, Britain and Spain. "By strengthening VIP marketing partnerships that break down borders between countries, we will continue to attract high-spending overseas VIPs and showcase Hyundai Department Store's distinctive shopping and cultural experiences to the world," said Yang Myung-sung, executive director in charge of sales strategy at Hyundai Department Store.
