Korea Aerospace Industries (047810), or KAI, will participate in the UK's "Farnborough International Airshow 2026" from the 20th to the 24th, the company said on the 21st.
First held in 1948, the Farnborough International Airshow is one of the world's three largest air shows and marks its 40th edition this year. This year's event drew participation from 41 countries and some 1,500 companies.
At this air show, KAI will set up fixed-wing and rotary-wing zones to present the future aerial combat systems of its main aircraft. The company will also establish a next-generation follow-on support system zone based on cutting-edge artificial intelligence (AI) to introduce hyper-connected solutions, a key element of the future battlefield.
KAI will also target the UK Royal Air Force's replacement needs for tactical entry-level and training aircraft. The company will exhibit the TF-50, a next-generation advanced trainer jointly developed by KAI and Lockheed Martin, as well as the FA-50 multirole light attack aircraft. Through light-emitting diode (LED) screens, it will promote its development roadmap, including phased enhancements to survivability and armament capabilities.
At the front of the exhibition hall, KAI plans to construct a next-generation aerial combat system zone that organically connects the Korean fighter jet KF-21 with unmanned combat aircraft, multipurpose drones, and ultra-compact synthetic aperture radar (SAR), showcasing its independent manned-unmanned teaming capabilities.
In the rotary-wing field, targeting nations seeking attack helicopters, KAI will unveil its Marine attack helicopter and light armed helicopter, while also highlighting the synergy effect combining its next-generation medium utility helicopter with future manned-unmanned teaming functions.
In the follow-on support field, KAI will operate a digital twin-based AI technical manual and a virtual reality (VR) maintenance zone, offering an opportunity to directly experience advanced technical support capabilities.
Beyond its existing export markets, KAI plans to conduct tailored export marketing through a series of meetings with senior military leadership and executives of global commercial partner companies in potential client nations across Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and the Americas. It will highlight the NATO interoperability and delivery-schedule strengths of its domestically produced aircraft, while also conducting export marketing under a civilian-government-military "one team" system alongside key figures from the Korean government and military, thereby boosting synergy in winning orders.
In addition, KAI plans to meet with delegations from major partners including General Electric (GE), Safran, and Martin-Baker to pursue global supply chain stabilization and solidify long-term, strategic partnerships.
KAI CEO Kim Jong-chul said, "The paradigm of the global market is rapidly shifting toward hyper-connected network-based manned-unmanned teaming platforms." He added, "Through the air show, we will convey the excellent performance and future technological scalability of our main aircraft to the leadership of various countries, and lay a solid foundation for a definite takeoff."
