Innocean is launching a global content business in earnest, blending brands and entertainment.
Innocean (214320) said on the 28th that it will unveil "Cinema by Brand" in cooperation with the Asian Contents & Film Market (ACFM), Asia's largest content market held during the Busan International Film Festival in October.
Cinema by Brand is a business platform that connects brands with film creators around the world to plan and produce new film content. It goes beyond reconstructing existing advertisements with cinematic grammar, instead producing content that considers entertainment value and the completeness of the work from the planning stage.
First, global film creators submit proposals reinterpreting a single brand through their own perspectives and narratives. The final works to be produced are then selected through review by experts across various fields, including Innocean, participating brands, ACFM, and the Producers Guild of Korea (PGK). After that, the entire process is integrated and operated, starting with brand selection and briefings for global creators, through project planning and review, film production, and release in theaters and on OTT platforms. The final selected works will undergo a production period of more than six months before being released in theaters or on global OTT platforms in the summer of 2027.
Innocean plans to establish "Cinema by Brand" as an annual event and expand it into a global content business. To this end, it recently established a "Content Studio" composed of content specialists and began expanding its intellectual property (IP) business.
"Starting with Cinema by Brand, we plan to continue expanding our creative capabilities beyond the traditional boundaries of advertising and marketing into the areas of film, entertainment, content, and IP," said Kim Jung-a, CEO of Innocean. "We will build a unique business structure that connects brands, creators, and the film industry to discover new growth opportunities."
Meanwhile, Cinema by Brand was designed to expand the potential of branded content that Innocean confirmed through "Night Fishing," a short film it produced with Hyundai Motor last year. "Night Fishing" was the first film-format branded content in Korea to be screened commercially in theaters, drawing 46,000 paying viewers nationwide with a 13-minute running time and a 1,000-won admission fee.
