Samyang Group (Samyang Holdings, 000070.KS) said on the 13th that it has launched 'Sami 2.0,' an in-house artificial intelligence (AI) portal exclusively for employees, to accelerate group-wide AX (AI transformation).
Sami 2.0 is an upgraded version of the existing generative AI service 'Sami 1.0.' With Sami 2.0, Samyang employees at all business sites at home and abroad can upload work files to their own databases (DB) to train the AI, creating customized AI optimized for their own tasks. All materials are used within a secure internal environment, minimizing security concerns.
To develop Sami 2.0, Samyang Group held an in-house competition called "100 Days of Challenge," in which about 80 employees identified AI tasks over 100 days. Through this, the company built 13 AI modules commonly needed for repetitive work and various job functions.
Using the modules, employees can handle tasks such as legal analysis, client orders, receipt of raw and subsidiary materials, and voucher review without having to issue individual commands to the AI. The modules also allow employees to manage personal schedules and email, search work files, and view at a glance comprehensive information by business division, customized article summaries, key economic indicators, and raw material prices. In particular, based on data by business division linked to internal databases—such as market conditions, raw material prices, performance, inventory, and utility costs—the system also provides analysis of past performance and forecasts of future conditions.
Going forward, Samyang Group plans to expand AI outputs beyond text into various forms such as images and reports, broadening the scope of work automation. In addition, the company plans to attempt to build a system by 2030 that enables AI to independently make situation-optimized proposals and decisions.
Oh Seung-hoon, CEO of Samyang Data System, who led the creation of this AI portal, said, "This will give further momentum to the AI transformation the group is pursuing," adding, "We also plan to provide AI education for employees in parallel to promote real changes in the way we work."
Meanwhile, Samyang Group will conduct education on topics such as AI corporate management methodology for 60 company-wide executives in two sessions this month, and will also run AI workshops for each organization to identify related tasks.
