Meritz Securities will embed Webull's finance-focused artificial intelligence in the next-generation platform it plans to launch next month, aiming to build a financial platform that pairs AI with an investor community rather than a conventional mobile trading system (MTS).
The company said on the 20th that it will exclusively install Webull's finance-specialized AI engine, Vega AI, in its next-generation platform "MOUM," due out on the 1st of next month — the first such deployment by a Korean brokerage. MOUM moves beyond a traditional MTS to combine AI with an investor community. Meritz plans to apply Webull's AI technology within MOUM to offer domestic investors generative AI-based investment information services.
Vega AI is an investment engine built on a large language model (LLM) that interprets an investor's question and then analyzes financial data. When an investor asks about a specific company's recent earnings or the reasons behind stock price moves, it draws on related disclosures, earnings and news to lay out the key points in an accessible way. That can cut the time investors spend searching and comparing multiple sources one by one.
Meritz plans to expand Vega AI's scope across all of MOUM, developing it into an "agentic AI" financial platform that supports everything from information search to analysis and investment decisions in a single place. Agentic AI goes beyond answering a user's question, identifying the underlying goal and independently searching, comparing and analyzing the necessary information.
For example, if a user asks it to "compare U.S. semiconductor companies with recently improved earnings against the stocks I follow," the system analyzes the relevant companies' earnings and disclosures and presents both the comparison and the reasoning behind it. The goal is to reduce the time and effort investors spend finding and comparing information themselves.
The two companies will also extend the partnership overseas. Combining each firm's AI technology and financial content capabilities, they plan to jointly pursue AI investment content and platform businesses in the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region. Webull is a global online brokerage platform that grew primarily in the United States and has recently expanded into an AI financial platform using generative AI and AI agent technology.
"Installing Vega AI is not about adding a single AI feature but a starting point for changing the very way investors find and interpret information," said Lee Jang-wook, head of Meritz Securities' Innovation Business Division. "We will develop it into a next-generation AI financial platform in which AI understands the user's goal and independently searches and analyzes the information needed to support investment decisions."
