September futures tracking the S&P/TSX Composite index were up 0.7% at 06:00 a.m. ET, with domestic markets set to open after a long holiday weekend.

Oil prices rebounded as a diplomatic resolution to the Middle East conflict remained uncertain, while disruptions to energy flows through key shipping routes persisted.
Brent crude futures rose 2.8% after dropping 7% in the previous session to a three-week low, while West Texas Intermediate Crude gained 2.4%.
Gold prices were steady as investors weighed mixed signals over the U.S. Federal Reserve's interest-rate path and monitored ongoing developments in the Middle East, while copper prices advanced, supported by falling inventories.
