Nvidia Q2 earnings blow past estimates, sees 70% annual revenue growth
Investing.com -- Delivery Hero AG (ETR:DHER) on Thursday reported a first-half net loss that missed market expectations, as higher financing costs, legal provisions and continued investment outweighed stronger revenue growth and improving cash generation.
Net loss attributable to shareholders of the parent was €392.4 million, compared with S&P Global Visible Alpha consensus estimate of a loss of €191.7 million.
Revenue nevertheless beat expectations, rising 12.7% to €7.75 billion from €6.88 billion a year earlier, versus a €7.44 billion Visible Alpha consensus.
Adjusted EBITDA also increased 3.9% to €426.7 million, ahead of the €387.7 million consensus, as higher order frequency, Quick Commerce expansion, own-delivery growth and higher non-commission revenue supported the business.
The bottom-line miss came despite the improvement in reported net loss, which narrowed slightly from €396.3 million a year earlier.
Higher costs and financing expenses remained a drag: general and administrative expenses rose 24.4% to €991 million, while net interest expense increased to €178.9 million from €108.9 million. Delivery Hero also booked €172.7 million of management adjustments for legal matters, primarily antitrust risks.
The company, however, raised its 2026 outlook, now expecting GMV growth of 9%-11%, up from 8%-10% previously. Adjusted EBITDA is forecast at €960 million to €1 billion, while free cash flow before extraordinary items is expected to be slightly above €250 million, up from slightly above €200 million previously.
The earnings come as Delivery Hero moves toward its proposed combination with Uber Technologies.
Uber gained significant influence over Delivery Hero in May, while an agreement with SSW Partners covers the sale of businesses in 14 markets following completion of the planned Uber transaction. Closing is expected in the second half of 2027, subject to conditions and regulatory approvals.
