文章为Investing.com AI生成内容,非首发一手源。

Wall Street slides to kick off historically worst month as oil prices, yields rise
NOVATO, Calif. - Ultragenyx Pharmaceutical Inc. (NASDAQ:RARE) announced the publication of 96-week data from its Phase 3 study of GENGLYCOS gene therapy for glycogen storage disease type Ia in The Journal of Inherited Metabolic Disease, according to a press release statement.
At Week 96, participants in both the treatment and crossover groups experienced a mean reduction in daily cornstarch intake of 61% from baseline while maintaining glycemic control. The study showed 67% of participants in the original treatment group and 72% of participants in the crossover group achieved reductions of at least 50% in daily cornstarch intake.
The study initially treated 46 participants aged eight and older with DTX401 or placebo in a randomized, double-blind trial. The primary endpoint at Week 48 showed patients treated with DTX401 experienced a mean reduction in cornstarch of 41% compared to 10% reduction in the placebo group.
Regarding nighttime cornstarch use, 33% of original DTX401 participants and 42% of crossover participants completely eliminated nighttime cornstarch dosing by Week 96. At Week 48, 83% of DTX401-treated participants met or exceeded their own baseline expectations for meaningful reduction in cornstarch use.
GENGLYCOS received approval from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration in patients ages eight and older with GSDIa under accelerated approval based on reduction in daily cornstarch intake. Continued approval may be contingent upon verification of clinical benefit in confirmatory trials.
The most common treatment-related adverse events were transient elevations in liver enzymes, managed with prophylactic corticosteroids. Seven serious adverse events were observed during the primary efficacy analysis period, including anaphylaxis, adrenal insufficiency, high lactate level, and hypoglycemia.
GSDIa is caused by pathogenic variants of the G6PC gene, resulting in severe hypoglycemia during fasting periods. The disease affects approximately 1,500-2,500 patients in the U.S.
