) announced today the appointment of Gokul Krishnan as Senior Vice President and General Manager for North America, according to a press release statement.
Krishnan brings over 20 years of senior leadership experience in semiconductors, solar, power electronics, energy storage, and grid services. He joins from Enphase Energy, where he served as Senior Vice President and General Manager of the consumer business unit. He previously led the microinverter business unit and global business development at Enphase.
Before Enphase, Krishnan was Chief Operating Officer and Vice President of SunEdison’s Residential and Small Commercial business, and Vice President and General Manager of its global module business. He also held senior positions at Cypress Semiconductor and Xilinx.
Krishnan holds a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Notre Dame, an MBA from the Wharton School, and a B.Tech from IIT Madras. He completed postdoctoral work at MIT.
"Gokul has worked at every layer of the solar value chain, from modules and power electronics to storage and grid services," said Shuki Nir, CEO of SolarEdge Technologies. "North America is a key market for us."
Krishnan succeeds Amir Cohen, who will support the transition while continuing to drive other initiatives. Krishnan is based in California and has already begun serving in the role.
SolarEdge develops and produces photovoltaic inverters, power optimizers, energy management solutions, and energy storage systems. The company stated it holds the number one position in the commercial market based on Wood Mackenzie’s U.S. distributed solar leaderboard for Q2 2026 in the non-residential solar segment.
