) announced today the launch of VaultIC409, a secure element designed to address cybersecurity challenges posed by quantum computing, according to a press release statement.

The company plans to demonstrate VaultIC409 at the Electronica trade show in Munich from November 10-13. Engineering samples are scheduled to become available in the second quarter of 2027.
The product addresses requirements from the European Union’s Cyber Resilience Act and the U.S. National Security Agency’s Commercial National Security Algorithm Suite 2.0, which establishes a roadmap for migration toward post-quantum cryptography.
According to IoT Analytics cited in the release, connected IoT devices are forecast to reach 39 billion by 2030. IDC estimates that more than 1.11 billion smart electricity meters had been deployed worldwide by the end of 2022.
VaultIC409 uses dedicated hardware accelerators for cryptographic operations and integrates an SPI interface to handle larger data volumes required by post-quantum security protocols.
SEALSQ develops and sells semiconductors, PKI and post-quantum technology hardware and software products.
