Bank of America(BAC.US)

ASML shares climb on raised 2026 outlook, capacity expansion plans
Investing.com -- On Wednesday, Bank of America Corporation (NYSE:BAC) reported third quarter adjusted earnings per share of $1.08, missing analyst estimates of $1.10.
Shares of the bank fell 3.74% in pre-market trading following the results.
The bank recorded a $1.2 billion regulatory settlement charge related to its anti-money laundering and economic sanctions compliance programs.
Revenue came on at $30.0 billion for the quarter ended September 30, rising 3% from $29.0 billion in the year-ago quarter, and meeting expectations. Net interest income climbed 8% YoY to $16.4 billion, driven by higher loan and deposit balances and fixed-rate asset repricing.
Reported net income totaled $6.9 billion, or $0.91 per share, down from $8.3 billion, or $1.04 per share, in the third quarter of 2025. Excluding the regulatory settlement charge, adjusted net income reached $8.1 billion. The settlement resulted from consent orders with the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency and the Financial Crime Enforcement Network.
"The team delivered organic growth, deepening client relationships and adding new ones," said Chair and CEO Brian Moynihan. "While investment banking and sales and trading revenues were lower, commercial lending grew in every client segment."
Average loans and leases increased 6% to $1.23 trillion, marking the tenth consecutive quarter of sequential growth. Average deposits rose 2% to $2.02 trillion. The bank returned $8.3 billion to shareholders through $2.2 billion in dividends and $6.0 billion in share repurchases.
The provision for credit losses remained relatively flat at $1.3 billion. Net charge-offs decreased to $1.3 billion from $1.4 billion in both the year-ago quarter and the prior quarter.
Consumer Banking generated net income of $3.5 billion on revenue of $11.6 billion, up 4%. Global Wealth and Investment Management reported net income of $1.5 billion with revenue of $7.1 billion, up 13%. Global Banking posted net income of $2.0 billion, while Global Markets earned $1.2 billion.
