Investing.com -- Entain PLC (LON:ENT)shares fell nearly 3% on Thursday as continued weakness in Brazil and unfavourable sports results offset stronger performance in the UK and Ireland, while the betting group reiterated its full-year outlook with underlying earnings expected at the lower end of its forecast range.
Shares were down 2.6% at 432.6 pence, while the pan-European STOXX 600 was down 0.4% at 0709 GMT.
Entain reported a 2% increase in third-quarter net gaming revenue on a constant-currency basis, with online net gaming revenue rising 3%. Gaming revenue grew 8%, but customer-friendly football results in August and September weighed on sports performance, with sports net gaming revenue falling 3%.
UK and Ireland net gaming revenue rose 8%, ahead of expectations, while online revenue in the region climbed 14%, supported by 17% growth in online gaming and a 15% increase in volumes. Retail like-for-like revenue also continued to grow across sports and gaming.
International net gaming revenue fell 4%, reflecting continued challenges in Brazil.
