Investing.com -- Interparfums reported flat third-quarter net sales of $430 million on Wednesday, as supply chain disruptions delayed about $10 million of U.S. giftset shipments into the fourth quarter.
The luxury fragrance company said U.S.-based sales fell to $127 million from $137 million a year earlier, largely because of the delayed giftsets. Excluding that impact, U.S. sales would have been flat.
For the first nine months, group sales rose 1% to $1.12 billion from $1.10 billion a year earlier, while U.S. sales rose 3% and would have risen 6% without the delayed giftsets.
European-based sales rose 4% in the quarter to $306 million from $295 million a year earlier, reflecting 3% organic growth and a 1% contribution from new brands, partly offset by a 1% currency headwind.
Coach fragrance sales rose 23% in the quarter and 15% for the nine months, helped by its popularity in the United States and two new line extensions launched earlier this year.
Montblanc sales rose 12% in the quarter after flat second-quarter sales, driven by Montblanc Legend Elixir and Montblanc Explorer Infinite; nine-month sales rose 8%. Jimmy Choo sales rose 1% in the quarter and 5% for the nine months.
Lacoste sales rose 4% in the quarter, driven by Original Intense, but are -9% for the nine months versus a year earlier, after a first half hurt by a strong prior-year comparison and softer conditions in Eastern Europe.
Ferragamo sales were -22% in the quarter versus a year earlier because of the timing of new launches, and -2% for the nine months. DKNY sales were -9% in the quarter because of launch timing and the giftset delays, but rose 4% for the nine months.
GUESS, the company’s largest U.S.-based brand, rose 3% in the quarter and 7% for the nine months. Roberto Cavalli sales rose 4% in the quarter and 6% for the nine months, despite a difficult economy in the Middle East, its largest market.
The ongoing war in the Middle East was a 1% headwind in the quarter and 2% for the nine months.
Chairman and CEO Jean Madar said the company maintains a "measured but positive outlook for the balance of the year, 2027 and beyond."
