Shares of Swedish oat drink company Oatly Group AB (OTLY) surged nearly 17% on Thursday, building on a 19% jump that took place the previous session. The recent gains came after the company reported second-quarter results that beat expectations on both the top and bottom lines. The company also sharply raised full-year revenue guidance.
OTLY climbed $1.78 to close Thursday's trading at $12.56. With the advance over the past couple of days, shares have reached their highest level since April.
On Wednesday, Oatly released its Q2 financial results, setting off a sharp rally. Revenue of $240.1 million grew 15.2% year-over-year and beat consensus by $21.5 million. The firm's loss per share of $0.99 came in $0.09 better than estimates. European sales led regional performance with a 21% increase, and gross margin expanded 140 basis points to 33.9%.
Management also raised constant currency revenue growth guidance to +8% to +10% for the full year, compared to the prior outlook of +3% to +5%, according to the earnings rally report.
