Brookfield Asset Management (BAM) agreed to buy battery storage developer Aypa Power for $7 billion, including debt.
Brookfield is buying Aypa from Blackstone Energy Transition Partners, and a deal could be announced as soon as Wednesday, according to a Bloomberg report on Wednesday, which cited people familiar with the matter. The deal gives Aypa an equity value of $3 billion.
Aypa develops, owns, and operates energy storage sites and hybrid renewable energy projects across North America, according to the report.
Brookfield and Blackstone declined to comment to Bloomberg.
