BeOne Medicines (ONC) on Thursday announced plans to invest $300M to expand its flagship production facility in Hopewell, New Jersey, bringing its total investments in U.S. manufacturing operations to more than $1B.
As part of the expansion, a new three-story, 145,000-square-foot building, added next to its existing facilities in Hopewell, will house its drug product manufacturing and packaging operations, the Switzerland-based company said.
The expanded site is anticipated to be fully operational in 2029, expanding the total campus area to roughly 545,000 square feet.
BeOne (ONC) expects to create about 120 new full-time jobs from the investment, increasing the total headcount at the site to approximately 240 by the end of 2029.
“Today's announcement reflects BeOne's commitment to strengthening U.S. manufacturing and expanding access to innovative medicines for patients with cancer,” CFO Aaron Rosenberg said.
The investment comes at a time when leading drugmakers such as Lilly (LLY) are rushing to expand their U.S. operations as the Trump administration threatens the pharmaceutical industry with tariffs to boost domestic manufacturing.
