- Navitas Semiconductor (NVTS) announced on Thursday a strategic partnership with Magnachip Semiconductor (MX) to accelerate adoption of silicon carbide (SiC) technology in high-voltage power markets.
- Under the agreement, Magnachip will license Navitas' GeneSiC technology for 1,200V, 2,300V, 3,300V, and higher-voltage SiC products.
- Magnachip will also gain access to Navitas' SiC supply chain and materials network to speed its commercialization. The technology will later be transferred and qualified at Magnachip's manufacturing facility in South Korea.
- The partnership targets growing demand for SiC power devices across energy infrastructure, energy storage, industrial electrification, automotive, and other high-power systems.
- Beyond the licensing deal, the companies said they plan to broaden their collaboration, with additional partnership initiatives expected to be announced later.
