MacroGenics (MGNX) lost nearly 6% in the morning hours on Friday after the antibody-based drug developer updated results from an ongoing Phase 1 trial for its lead asset MGC026 targeted at solid tumors.
Citing data from 74 patients who were part of the dose escalation and ongoing cohort expansion cohorts of the study, the Rockville, Maryland-based biotech said that there were no indications to suggest interstitial lung disease or ocular toxicity.
There were signs of anti-tumor activity against several cancer types, the company added, highlighting its plans to share dose escalation and early tumor-specific cohort data at the 2026 meeting of the European Society for Medical Oncology taking place in Spain in October.
Enrollment for a cohort with squamous cell carcinoma of the head and neck is currently underway in Stage 2 after the cohort, which is designed to target 40 patients with SCCHN, achieved the response threshold in Stage 1, MGNX added.
