PayPal Holdings (PYPL) (PYPL:CA) and Amazon.com (AMZN) are launching buy now, pay later services for customers in Germany and Austria, beginning in August.
Eligible Amazon customers will be able to use PayPal Ratenzahlung on Amazon.de and in the Amazon app.
PayPal Ratenzahlung enables customers to split purchases between €30 and €10,000 into fixed monthly payments. Terms of 3, 6, 12, and 24 months are available on purchases, and PayPal is offering new terms exclusive to Amazon customers of 36 and 48 months.
"As Buy Now, Pay Later has become a popular payment choice for consumers to shop and pay, offering trusted and flexible payment options is more important than ever," said Carola Wahl, managing director, Germany, Austria, and Switzerland at PayPal.
"With PayPal Ratenzahlung, available in Germany and Austria on Amazon.de from August, customers can decide to pay over time with clear terms and no surprises — all within the seamless Amazon experience they already know and trust," said Rocco Bräuniger, country manager at Amazon DACH.
