Stock futures edged higher Wednesday morning as market participants prepared for a major policy announcement from the Federal Reserve alongside earnings from technology heavyweights Microsoft (MSFT) and Meta Platforms (META).
Here are some of Wednesday's biggest stock movers:
Biggest stock gainers
Bloom Energy (BE) +11%- Shares jumped after the fuel cell maker delivered record Q2 results, beating revenue and earnings expectations while significantly raising its full-year outlook. Revenue surged 166% Y/Y to a record $1.07B, topping estimates, while adjusted EPS of $0.78 nearly doubled Wall Street expectations. Bloom also lifted its FY2026 guidance, forecasting $3.9B-$4.2B in revenue and $2.55-$2.85 in adjusted EPS, both well above consensus, as accelerating demand from AI data centers and hyperscale customers continued to drive strong growth and profitability.
Teradyne (TER) +5% - Shares rose after the semiconductor test equipment maker beat Q2 earnings and revenue expectations and issued stronger-than-expected Q3 guidance. Revenue more than doubled Y/Y to $1.33B, driven by AI-related demand, while adjusted EPS of $2.47 topped estimates by $0.42. For Q3, Teradyne forecast revenue of $1.2B-$1.3B and non-GAAP EPS of $1.85-$2.15, both well above Wall Street expectations, reinforcing confidence in sustained AI-driven growth.
Ford Motor (F) +5% - Shares advanced after the automaker delivered a Q2 revenue and adjusted EPS beat and raised its full-year outlook despite reporting a net loss driven by one-time EV and joint venture charges. Revenue declined 4% to $48.3B but topped expectations, while adjusted EPS of $0.37 exceeded estimates. Ford also raised its FY2026 adjusted EBIT guidance to $10B-$11B and adjusted free cash flow outlook to $6B-$7B, while improving its profit outlook for Ford Blue and Ford Pro and narrowing expected losses at its Model e EV business.
Biggest stock losers
Avis Budget Group (CAR) -13% - Shares plunged after the car rental company missed Q2 revenue and earnings expectations, despite a sharp improvement in profitability and record fleet utilization. Revenue slipped 1.3% Y/Y to $3B, while EPS of $0.98 missed estimates, overshadowing record 72.6% vehicle utilization, lower fleet costs, and progress on its Waymo autonomous vehicle partnership. Investors also remained cautious about ongoing travel demand headwinds and the impact of ride-sharing on rental bookings.
Skyworks Solutions (SWKS) -10% - Shares tumbled despite the chipmaker beating FQ3 earnings and revenue estimates, as investors focused on an in-line FQ4 revenue outlook and limited near-term catalysts ahead of its pending merger with Qorvo. Skyworks reported adjusted EPS of $1.08 on $934.8M in revenue, both above expectations, while guiding for Q4 adjusted EPS of $1.27, ahead of consensus. The company also said it now expects its merger with Qorvo ((QRVO)) to close before the end of 2026 and unveiled the combined company's leadership team.
