Deutsche Bank downgraded Diageo plc (DEO) to a Hold rating on Wednesday after having it set at Buy. The firm noted the recent share price outperformance.
Analyst Mitch Collett said the underlying estimates are broadly unchanged. Looking ahead to when Diageo (DEO) reports FY26 results and issues a strategy update on August 6, Collett and his team continue to expect FY26 to be in line with consensus with a 'reset' in FY27 to drive competitiveness. "However, there is a broad range of potential outcomes with greater downside than upside risk, in our view. We continue to believe consensus expectations for both FY27 and beyond remain materially too optimistic," he warned.
The consensus Wall Street analyst rating on Diageo (DEO) is still Buy, while the Seeking Alpha Quant Rating is flashing Hold.
Shares of Diageo (DEO) showed a 2.0% decline in premarket trading to $87.16.
