Borr Drilling (BORR) up 4.3% pre-market Wednesday after saying its 50-50 joint venture between the company and its well construction partner in Mexico completed the acquisition of five premium jack-up rigs from Fontis Finance for $287M.
Borr (BORR) said the BC Ventures JV acquired the rig-owning entities of Friede & Goldman JU-2000E design rigs Oberon and Titania FE, and LeTourneau Super 116-C design rigs Courageous, Defender, and Intrepid, all currently located in Mexico.
The JV financed the acquisition through a $237M non-recourse seller's credit and a $25M cash contribution from each of the company and the Mexican partner; the seller's credit matures in January 2029 and is secured by, among other things, a first priority lien on the five jack-up rigs.
Borr (BORR) said the transaction increases its owned and jointly owned fleet to 34 rigs and expands its presence in Mexico.
