Evercore ISI boosted Humana (HUM) to outperform from in line, citing future member growth and moving more members to higher-rated Medicare plans.
In addition, the investment bank sees optimism that the insurer can regain 4 stars for its plans in 2027 (applicable to 2028 plan year), which could add $1B-$1.5B in operating profit in 2028 and ~$6-$9 EPS upside.
"This benefit is not currently priced into the stock/Street estimates, and should continue to support earnings outperformance over the next few years," wrote analyst Elizabeth Anderson.
Evercore boosted its price target to $480 from $430 (~23% upside based on July 28 close).
