Compass Point initiated coverage of Charles Schwab (SCHW) with a Buy rating and $135.00 price target on the back of the online broker's agentic trading capabilities.
Shares were 0.34% higher at $105.60 during pre-market trading on Monday.
"We believe agentic trading can be a catalyst for reducing SCHW's cash sorting overhang," said analysts Ed Engel and Michael Donovan.
"While investors are concerned about AI disruption, these concerns underappreciate SCHW's optionality to launch agentic features for paid subscribers. This opt-in capability could effectively replace interest income with recurring subscription fees while reducing SCHW's sensitivity to interest rates and cash sorting pressure," said the analysts in a research note.
Compass Point's rating aligns with the average sell-side analysts and Seeking Alpha authors rating of Buy. SA's Quant Rating system grades the stock as Hold.
