Truist downgraded Intuit (INTU) to Hold from Buy on a softening growth outlook and the lack of near-term catalysts.
Recent management commentary indicated the company's results could reflect a J-curve in the year ahead, with "near-term trade-offs in its DIY tax business, flattish growth in Mailchimp, and low single-digit declines in its GBS desktop business," Truist said in a note to clients.
"We continue to expect INTU to generate healthy profitability over the next year with mid-teens growth in EPS; however, we are moving to the sidelines with a Hold rating as growth headwinds remain persistent and due to a lack of a near-term catalyst," analyst Arvind Ramnani wrote.
Price target was cut to $350 from $410, based on a 13x P/E multiple on Truist's FY27E EPS estimate (lowered from 15.5x).
Truist's Hold rating on Intuit (INTU) aligns with the SA Quant rating of Hold and diverges from the average Wall Street rating of Buy.
Intuit (INTU) stock edged down 0.2% in after-hours trading.
