Sigma Lithium (SGML) up 5.3% pre-market Monday after saying its mining and industrial operations are fully back online following the signing of a terms for adjustment of procedures agreement with Brazil's Minas Gerais state.
Sigma Lithium (SGML) estimates the execution of environmental procedure adjustments under the agreement will require ~$1M of capital spending, and it agreed to pay up to $540K in environmental-related fines for the 2013-22 period, while denying any wrongdoing in the key claims raised in connection with the company's operations.
The company said it will proceed with its previously announced production targets of 240K metric tons of lithium oxide concentrate within 12 months and 330K tons in FY 2027.
Operations related to the sale of high-purity lithium fines consisting of reprocessed tailings and other intermediate-grade products continued without disruption during the partial suspension of operations, the company said.
