Archer (ACHR) and sports and entertainment company AEG said on Monday they will develop a vertiport at L.A. Live in downtown Los Angeles under a multiyear agreement. Archer (ACHR) will be the exclusive air-taxi provider for the 4-million-square-foot complex, which sits next to Crypto.com Arena.
The proposed facility would give Archer (ACHR) a downtown base for flights to other parts of the region. The company has previously identified SoFi Stadium, USC, and Hollywood Burbank Airport as potential locations, with Hawthorne Airport planned as its central operating hub.
Archer’s (ACHR) four-seat Midnight aircraft are intended for short urban journeys and can carry passengers between locations in about 10 to 20 minutes, according to the company. The aircraft are designed to fly at speeds of up to 150 miles per hour.
