Coinbase Global (COIN) on Monday said it has selected Chainlink as its official oracle infrastructure for its newly launched tokenized stocks.
The digital exchange's tokenized stocks are real equity securities issued as standard B20 tokens on the Base DeFi ecosystem. Each token is backed 1:1 by an underlying share held in regulated custody with Alpaca under the Abu Dhabi Global Market framework.
The company's tokenized stocks are only available in eligible jurisdictions outside the U.S.
The Chainlink Data Feeds will enable builders across the Base ecosystem to have access to continuous pricing for the tokenized stocks, including NVDAc, METAc, AAPLc, GOOGLc, and more.
"We're excited to see Coinbase select Chainlink as its official oracle infrastructure for Coinbase Tokenized Stocks. With Chainlink, Coinbase leverages the secure, reliable pricing data required to unlock the utility and distribution of tokenized stocks across DeFi, while accelerating the convergence of TradFi and DeFi," said Johann Eid, chief business officer of Chainlink Labs.
