不做 Polestar Automotive Holding UK PLC(PSNY.US)
Volvo Cars(VOLAF.US)

Polestar (PSNY) said it was blindsided by a U.S. decision to bar the Chinese-owned electric-vehicle maker from selling new cars in the country after Commerce Department officials had indicated it could remain in the market, according to a letter to dealers cited by The Wall Street Journal.
The decision has highlighted Polestar’s unusually close ties to Volvo (VOLAF) Cars. The brand traces its roots to Volvo’s performance business and was spun off as a standalone electric-car marque in 2017 under Volvo (VOLAF) and its Chinese parent, Zhejiang Geely Holding Group.
Polestar (PSNY) said Commerce approved Volvo’s application in May but rejected Polestar’s the following month. The companies share the same Chinese majority owner, while the Polestar 3 and Volvo EX90 use closely related technology and are built on the same production line in South Carolina.
The June 24 decision came as the U.S. tightened restrictions on connected-vehicle technology over concerns that vehicle and GPS data could be exploited by foreign adversaries, including China and Russia. Polestar (PSNY) said it had offered safeguards covering data access and storage, audits, and cybersecurity reviews. It has argued that the differing treatment of Polestar and Volvo is “contrary to law,” according to the letter.
Polestar (PSNY) sold fewer than 6,000 vehicles in the U.S. last year, about 6% of global sales, and is now discounting existing inventory because the restriction applies to vehicles from the 2027 model year onward. One U.S. dealer is also suing Polestar (PSNY) for at least $25 million in damages.
