Spyre Therapeutics (SYRE) is down ~12% in after-hours trading Tuesday after posting top-line phase 2 data on SPY072 for rheumatoid arthritis that offered mixed results.
While the low dose tested met the primary endpoint—change from baseline in DAS28-CRP—it missed on the high dose.
As a result, Spyre will not prioritize SPY072 as a monotherapy in the indication. However, the company said it is still optimistic, based on prior results, that the asset can be effective for other autoimmune conditions, such as psoriatic arthritis and hidradenitis suppurativa.
Topline data for SPY072 in psoriatic arthritis and axial spondyloarthritis is expected in Q4, while a combination with IL-17A/F for hidradenitis suppurativa is expected in late 2027 or early 2028.
