Boston Scientific (BSX) lost more than 2% in the premarket on Wednesday after disclosing a cybersecurity incident that it said affected some of its IT systems and disrupted the company’s worldwide operations.
In a regulatory filing, the Marlborough, Massachusetts-based MedTech said that the incident has impacted and will continue to impact some of its IT systems and business applications designed to support its operations, including the processing and shipment of customer orders.
Boston Scientific (BSX) added that soon after detecting the incident, it activated its incident response protocols and launched an investigation.
However, noting that work to restore the affected functions and systems access is ongoing, the company said it has yet to determine if the incident will have a material impact on its business.
