JFrog (FROG) was in the spotlight on Wednesday as RBC Capital Markets initiated coverage on the enterprise software firm with an Outperform rating and an $118 price target.
“We believe JFrog is in a unique position to be a system of record for the AI era as a hub to store, track, and share software packages, container images, libraries, and AI/ML models needed for software development,” RBC analyst Matthew Hedberg wrote in a note to clients. “As such, we believe JFrog can benefit from the rapid pace of code development also aided by growing security and governance offerings.”
Hedberg also noted that JFrog is likely to benefit as artificial intelligence accelerates code creation, as it must be stored, secured, governed, and distributed through the company's core product, Artifactory. “The platform is deeply entrenched and becoming more critical as code generation moves at the speed of AI,” Hedberg added.
JFrog is also likely to benefit from its cloud unit, as revenue for the segment grew 53% in the second quarter of 2026 and now accounts for 53% of total revenue. Given the consumption model, this creates a “revenue floor” for JFrog “as customers have been running above minimums amid AI-driven advancements,” Hedberg added. “As CY/27 budgets formalize, we expect usage could be converted into higher committed contracts, providing a [near-term] benefit and [long-term] predictability.”
Other potential positives include the fact that JFrog Curation has “limited competition” in the software supply chain security space and its DevGovOps platform is a “significant growth opportunity not captured in estimates.”
“As AI agents move toward autonomy, we believe governance must be embedded natively into the software supply chain,” Hedberg added. “JFrog owns the system of record from which governance is enforced, giving it a structural right to win, in our view.”
