Stock futures edged higher in the premarket hours of Thursday as investors digested blockbuster earnings from AI leader Nvidia while turning their attention to an upcoming speech by Federal Reserve Chair Kevin Warsh.
Here are some of Thursday's biggest stock movers:
Biggest stock gainers
Okta (OKTA) +21% - Shares surged after the identity and access management company reported Q2 adjusted EPS of $1.05, beating estimates by $0.09, while revenue rose 11% Y/Y to $805M and current RPO increased 14% to $2.59B. Okta also raised its FY2027 outlook, now expecting revenue of $3.22B-$3.23B and adjusted EPS of $3.90-$3.94, above consensus estimates.
Salesforce (CRM) +13% - Shares jumped after the enterprise software giant reported strong Q2 results with revenue rising 11% Y/Y. Strong AI-related demand, with AI and data products’ ARR nearing $4B, alongside a new Anthropic partnership and raised FY2027 EPS guidance of $16.67-$16.71, much above the $14.17 consensus, helped drive the rally.
CrowdStrike (CRWD) +10% - Shares climbed after the cybersecurity company reported upbeat Q2 results, with ARR rising 25% to $5.84B and adjusted operating income and free cash flow both beating estimates. CrowdStrike also raised its FY2027 revenue guidance to $5.99B-$6.01B, above the $5.94B consensus, as CEO George Kurtz highlighted accelerating AI adoption and the growing need to secure AI-driven enterprise environments.
NVIDIA (NVDA) +5% - Shares edged higher after the chipmaker delivered a Q2 beat-and-raise driven by relentless data center demand. For Q2 revenue rose 105.9% Y/Y, topping consensus, led by Data center revenue that surged to $89B (vs. $85B expected), while adjusted gross margin met estimates at 75%. Looking ahead, Nvidia guided Q3 revenue to $108B (±2%), comfortably ahead of the $104.86B consensus, despite projecting zero revenue contribution from China. CEO Jensen Huang highlighted accelerating AI momentum, noting that full-scale production of the next-gen Vera Rubin platform is ramping up to meet surging global infrastructure demand.
Biggest stock losers
The Wendy's (WEN) -13%- Shares tumbled following a report that Nelson Peltz's Trian Fund Management has no plans to pursue a take-private bid for the fast-food chain at this time. Trian cited concerns regarding Wendy's recent stock performance, valuation multiples, and strategic direction, though the fund remains open to future opportunities. The decision gives new CEO Bob Wright time to execute his five-point turnaround strategy focusing on food quality, value, operations, store upgrades, and digital sales after acknowledging to franchisees that the company had previously sacrificed product quality for cost savings.
HP (HPQ) -9%- Shares plunged despite delivering a beat-and-raise FQ3 results. Growth was anchored by Personal Systems revenue, which jumped 18% to $11.77B, offsetting a 2.2% constant-currency drop in Printing to $3.91B. Looking ahead, HP raised its full-year adjusted EPS guidance to $3.19–$3.29 (vs. $3.05 consensus) and free cash flow forecast to $3B–$3.2B, with Q4 adjusted EPS expected at $0.69–$0.79 (midpoint $0.74 vs. $0.67 expected).
