Nvidia(NVDA.US)

Meta Platforms(META.US)、Alphabet(GOOG.US)、Nvidia(NVDA.US)等只是降低远期监管风险的主题利好,难以支撑盘前直接追入。

The U.S. is urging G20 countries to take a hands-off approach to AI regulation, arguing that governments should avoid creating broad new rules or dedicated regulatory bodies for the rapidly evolving technology. U.S. technology adviser Michael Kratsios promoted the administration’s “Carolina Principles” at a two-day G20 technology meeting in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. The framework calls for countries to reserve new AI regulations for “novel” situations while increasing investment in foundational research and expanding commercial opportunities for the technology. “Policymakers do not need to approach each innovation in isolation and should not treat every emerging technology as a first-of-its-kind policy problem,” Kratsios said. The U.S. also plans to press G20 members against establishing new regulatory organizations specifically to oversee AI development, a White House official said. China has signed the Carolina Principles, according to Kratsios, although he did not release a copy of the document. Chinese Science and Technology Minister Yin Hejun represented Beijing at the meeting, while Kratsios said he had a “great” bilateral meeting with his Chinese counterpart. The approach also broadly aligns with the interests of major U.S. AI companies, which have argued that heavy regulation could slow the release of new models, increase costs and limit the industry's growth. Industry leaders including Google ( GOOG ) DeepMind’s Demis Hassabis, Meta Platforms ( META ) CEO Mark Zuckerberg and SpaceX ( SPCX ) CEO Elon Musk addressed the meeting by video on Tuesday. Nvidia ( NVDA ) CEO Jensen Huang and OpenAI ( OPENAI ) CEO Sam Altman expected to attend in person on Wednesday. Zuckerberg said countries should not restrict open-weight AI models, which have publicly accessible core elements. He has increasingly positioned Meta as a leader in open-weight AI, and tighter rules could hurt those efforts. Musk criticized the European Union’s technology regulations, saying they “inhibit progress” for companies. He also urged countries outside China to develop new energy sources to support the growing power needs of AI data centers.
