Palantir Technologies ( PLTR ) CEO Alex Karp will be the first major investor in a new defense technology company launched by former Ukrainian Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov, Fedorov said in a post on X on Tuesday. Karp, who has worked with Fedorov for about five years, said the company could bring Ukraine’s knowledge and experience of warfare “as a product to allied countries.” He added, “You and your colleagues are launching a company that I think will be defining for the world.” Palantir ( PLTR ) has worked with Ukraine on AI and defense technology, including battlefield data and military applications. Financial terms of Karp’s investment were not disclosed. Fedorov, 35, a proponent of drone and military technology, was dismissed as Ukraine’s defense minister in July after six months in the role. He has since pursued a defense-tech fund focused on battlefield robotics, interceptor drones and low-cost AI-enabled missiles, along with plans for a defense-focused think tank. The new venture comes as Ukraine seeks to expand its domestic defense-technology industry and attract Western capital and expertise to develop technologies tested during its war with Russia.
