American International Group ( AIG ) said Peter Zaffino will step down as executive chair and a member of the board of directors, effective September 15, 2026. Zaffino will join Palantir Technologies ( PLTR ) as global head of financial services, effective January 15, 2027. The AIG board has elected John Rice, the company’s lead independent director, to serve as chair of the board effective September 15. Rice has served on AIG’s board since March 2022.
