Lynas Rare Earths ( LYSCF ) ( LYSDY ) was in takeover talks earlier this year, though the discussions ended without a deal, a company spokesperson told Reuters. The talks prompted the rare earths company to suspend its search to replace former CEO Amanda Lacaze, who retired in June, C hairman John Humphrey told investor briefings this week, three people familiar told Reuters, according to a report on Wednesday. "The discussions earlier this year had a high level of uncertainty and did not proceed," the Lynas spokesperson said in a statement to Reuters. Lynas named Pol Le Roux interim CEO in June. The company announced in January that Lacaze would retire at the end of the financial year through June, stepping down after 12 years leading the world's largest supplier of critical minerals outside of China.
