法院将Paramount收购Warner Bros.争议事项转交法官安排和解程序

Warner Bros. Discovery ( WBD ) shares quickly shot up and are now largely unchanged after a court filing in the state AG's lawsuit to challenge the Paramount Skydance ( PSKY ) deal. "Pursuant to Local Rule 72-1, the Court REFERRS these two matters to Magistrate Judge Thomas S. Hixson for settlement," Judge Araceli Martinez-Olguin wrote in a court filing on Wednesday that was circulating among traders.  "The parties shall reach out to Judge Hixson’s chambers as soon as practicable to begin the process of getting on his schedule." The stock popped on hopes that there could be a settlment in the dispute, but it wasn't clear at all to traders if if the filing was anything more than procedural. The filing comes after California's Attorney General Rob Bonta late late last month canceled a meeting with representatives of Paramount ( PSKY ) that was scheduled to begin last Monday to  start discussing a settlement of the state’s lawsuit seeking to block the mega media deal. Bonta said last it's "very possible" that settlement talks could happen with Paramount Skydance ( PSKY ) over its planned $110 billion purchase of Warner Bros. ( WBD ). "It's very possible," Bonta told CNBC's David Faber in an interview on Thursday. "Of course we remain ready, willing, and able to do that. They just have to follow the rules that every other party in litigation, attorneys in litigation, follow. Engage in good faith. Engage sincerely; don't engage in lying leaks to the press while we are having confidential settlement discussions." Shares of Paramount Skydance rose 4.7% on Wednesday.
