测NVS.US和IONS.US在公告后盘后/次日反应。

Swiss drugmaker Novartis' (NVS) shares fell 13% in premarket trading on Tuesday following news that its late-stage trial for muscle-wasting drug candidate del-desiran failed to meet primary endpoints.
The company’s stock dropped as investors reacted to what was its third drug trial setback in a week. It put the shares on track for their worst trading day ever. A host of other biotech stocks also came under broad pressure, with Dyne Therapeutics (DYN) falling about 30%, Sarepta Therapeutics (SRPT) dropping 16%, and NewAmsterdam Pharma (NAMS) down 12%, as a pair of disappointing Novartis clinical-trial results triggered concerns across the sector.
Novartis (NVS) said its global phase III HARBOR study, which had been testing del-desiran in patients with myotonic dystrophy type 1, “did not demonstrate statistically significant improvement versus placebo” on measurements of hand opening time.
Novartis said its global phase III HARBOR study, which had been testing del-desiran in patients with myotonic dystrophy type 1, failed to show that the drug significantly improved patients’ ability to open their hands faster than a placebo.
“Novartis is evaluating the full HARBOR dataset and will engage with health authorities to determine the most appropriate development path for del-desiran,” the company said in a statement.
Del-desiran is one of three antibody oligonucleotide conjugate therapies that was added to Novartis’s neuromuscular pipeline when it acquired Avidity Biosciences for around $12B last year.
Shreeram Aradhye, Novartis' (NVS) president of development and chief medical officer, said developing therapies for diseases such as myotonic dystrophy type 1 remained challenging and that setbacks were part of scientific progress. Novartis maintains its 5-6% five-year sales CAGR guidance for 2025-2030.
The developments have raised concerns about related drug-development programs and sent investors reassessing the prospects for emerging therapies.
