The deal spread in Fox's ( FOXA )  ( FOX ) planned $22 billion acquisition of Roku ( ROKU ) narrowed on a report that the Dept. of Justice could soon approve the transaction. The spread narrowed to $2.06 from $3.37 on Tuesday. The review is on a fast track, and the DOJ's staff is finishing up its probe, according to traders, who cited a Capitol Forum report that was circulating on Wednesday. DOJ leadership appears to be positive about a deal. The DOJ hasn't contacted deal opponents such as Fox ( FOXA ) rival Newsmax ( NMAX ), according to the report. Semifor last month reported that Newsmax ( NMAX ) CEO Chris Ruddy was trying to get the DOJ to block the deal. The reports come after Fox ( FOXA ) and Roku ( ROKU ) last month received a second request from the DOJ about the planned acquisition of the streaming device firm. FOX expects the deal to be consummated by the first half of the calendar year 2027, subject to the termination of the waiting period under the HSR Act. CTFN reported in July that internally there is some expectation the deal could close by the end of this year. Fox is set to report Q3 results on Nov. 2. In June, Fox ( FOXA ) to acquire Roku ( ROKU ) for $160.00 per share in a combination of cash and FOX Class A common stock, valuing Roku at approximately $22 billion in enterprise value.
