不做 美联航(UAL.US)
未确认并购传闻且无交易条款,反垄断阻力大;盘中已同步上涨,缺少可量化同向edge。
不做 达美航空(DAL.US)
潜在被合并方没有报价或董事会确认,无法判断溢价与成交概率;不追未证实传闻。
不做 美国航空(AAL.US)

Speaker A: that the Wall Street Journal report that uh United Airlines uh was interested in in some form of merger with with Delta. I mean, UAL CEO Scott Kirby, he approached American Airlines uh I believe a year ago, whatever it was. He clearly wants to be a kingmaker in the space.
Speaker B: This would be a mega deal. I mean, this is not Kirby in this case is looking at um perhaps merging but not with two companies that are sort of flailing or or or that are underperforming. I mean, these two company, these two uh airlines are the top airlines in the US and last year Wall Street Journal reporting that uh they had accounted for 90% of US airline profits together, which calls into question whether this really would go through because of anti-trust concerns.
Speaker C: And actually Delta CEO even said last week on the call though that despite these higher oil prices, that he's not even so much focused on the price anymore but more of that experience, especially that premium experience, which goes to show the pricing power that these airlines have. And so it seems like right now, this is a industry that is focused on just getting that consumer to want to spend. And both United and Delta have done a good job with that.
Speaker D: I think both United's CEO and its board is doing what most large company um executive teams are doing today. They recognize that now is the time for big game-changing M&A. Um the Biden administration, you know, was pretty unfriendly to large corporate M&A. Uh the Trump administration is much more open and permissive to it. And so I think that we're seeing big companies um decide that now is the time. And the merger approval timelines are lengthy. And so if you want to close a deal during the Trump administration, um you better announce it over the next 12 months.
Speaker D: I think that we're seeing increased consolidation in the banking industry and we're going to see this across more industries going forward. I think that the M&A environment over the next 12 months is uh something investors are pretty excited about for good reason.
Speaker A: So you think the good old-fashioned big M&A deal is back.
Speaker D: Uh if you look at M&A stats year to date, um large corporate M&A activity is up quite a bit. Mid-market M&A activity is flat or even down a little bit. So, yes, I do I do believe that.
