GE HealthCare (GEHC) said Tuesday it announced five clinical collaborations across three continents to evaluate StarGuide GX, its next-generation digital 4D SPECT/CT imaging system.
StarGuide GX uses dual-sided cadmium zinc telluride detectors designed to support high-sensitivity, high-resolution, quantitative and dynamic imaging. The detectors move close to the patient, while a dual-collimator design is intended to eliminate manual external collimator exchanges and streamline workflows.
The system uses NVIDIA RTX computing for image reconstruction. GE HealthCare said its Low-Medium Energy collimator provides up to 2.67 times the system volume sensitivity of the NM/CT 870 DR with a LEHRS collimator.
It also supports a broad radionuclide energy range and may be evaluated in research involving emerging alpha emitters, including Actinium-225.
The collaborators are Hadassah Medical Center and Rambam Health Care Campus in Israel, Mayo Clinic in the U.S., Oncopole Claudius Regaud-Institut Universitaire du Cancer de Toulouse in France, and Peking University First Hospital in China.
Their evaluations will cover image quality, quantitative performance, dynamic imaging, workflow, oncology imaging and tracer research.
GE HealthCare said the insights will guide the evolution of its digital SPECT/CT platform and inform future nuclear medicine imaging.
The collaborations build on work with University Hospital Essen in Germany, which installed the first StarGuide GX. The institutions have scanned more than 1,000 patients.
StarGuide GX received CE marking in November 2025 and is available in select EU markets. U.S. FDA 510(k) clearance is pending, and the system is not available for sale in the U.S.
GEHC closed Tuesday at $70.23, up 0.67%. In the overnight trading, shares were down 0.01% at $70.22.
