Kyverna Therapeutics, Inc. (KYTX) announced one-year results from its registrational Phase 2 KYSA-8 trial, demonstrating sustained clinical benefits of miv-cel in patients with stiff person syndrome (SPS).
The data showed a median 49% improvement in the timed 25-foot walk test at one year. Of the 26 patients treated, 77% achieved clinically meaningful improvement in walking performance, while 92% remained free of chronic immunotherapies for SPS.
Additional findings showed sustained improvements in mobility, disability, muscle stiffness and sensitivity. Among the 12 patients who required walking aids before treatment, eight continued to walk without assistance at one year.
Miv-cel also demonstrated a well-tolerated safety profile, with no high-grade cytokine release syndrome (CRS), no immune effector cell-associated neurotoxicity syndrome (ICANS), and no cases of immune effector cell-associated hemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis-like syndrome (IEC-HS).
The results were presented at MS Toronto 2026 and further support Kyverna's regulatory plans for miv-cel, an investigational CD19-targeting CAR T-cell therapy. The company is developing the treatment as a potential first approved therapy for SPS, a rare neurological autoimmune disease with no currently FDA-approved treatments.
Currently, KYTX is trading at $5.97, down 1.16%.
