Surf Air Mobility Inc. (NYSE:SRFM) announced Thursday that it signed a software agreement with Flying Zebra, marking its fifth commercial contract for OperatorOS, an artificial intelligence-powered aviation platform developed with Palantir Technologies Inc. (NASDAQ:PLTR).
The agreement brings Surf Air Mobility closer to its goal of having five operators actively using the platform by the end of 2026.
Surf Air Mobility Expands AI Aviation Software Business
Under the agreement, Surf Air Mobility will receive a percentage of revenue from every Flying Zebra trip managed through OperatorOS. The company did not disclose the financial terms.
Flying Zebra operates four aircraft. The software will help the operator manage aircraft and crew schedules, improve operational visibility and reduce manual work.
OperatorOS, part of Surf Air Mobility’s SurfOS platform, uses AI to streamline flight management, reporting and distribution for commercial charter operators.
SurfOS President Barrett Brown said the company has secured five OperatorOS agreements and is now focused on bringing those customers onto the platform before year-end.
The software has supported Surf Air Mobility’s Southern Airways and Mokulele Airlines operations since 2025. It also recently received Federal Aviation Administration approval for electronic signatures and recordkeeping.
SurfOS Helps Cut Operating Costs
The latest agreement follows an Oct. 7 operational update, in which Surf Air Mobility highlighted efficiency gains from its software platform.
During the first nine months of 2026, the company reported a 6% reduction in direct operating costs per block hour, alongside a 9% decline in fuel consumption and pilot costs per block hour.
Labor productivity per block hour improved 15%, while Mokulele Airlines’ second-quarter revenue increased approximately 7% year over year.
The company also secured a four-year, $19.4 million federal subsidy contract to continue serving Lanaʻi, Hawaii, through August 2030.
Meanwhile, Surf Air Mobility is expanding its electric aviation plans following 64 demonstration flights conducted with BETA Technologies across four Hawaiian islands.
The company aims to improve airline profitability while expanding SurfOS adoption among third-party operators, creating additional software-related revenue opportunities.
SRFM Price Action: Surf Air Mobility shares were down 1.76% at $0.81 at the time of publication on Thursday, according to Benzinga Pro data.
